Update: COVID-19 Safety Precautions

in: Resident News on: 04/17/20

We are reaching out to you again to let you know that Metropolitan Realty Group is closely monitoring the information available to us relating to the COVID-19 outbreak.  We are making every effort to maintain our ability to provide exceptional service while protecting the health and safety of our tenants and employees.

The Governor, Dr. Fauci and Dr. Brix have all advised that we here in NY, and especially in the NYC area, are expected to experience the height of the COVID-19 outbreak over the next few weeks.  It is more important than ever that you self-quarantine and stay in your apartment as much as possible, that you follow the 6 feet social distancing rules wherever possible, that you use gloves, face coverings and other protective wear as much as possible, that you wash your hands frequently and that you disinfect the areas you touch in your apartment as much as possible.

We have and are continuing to follow the same procedures in our buildings.  Our maintenance staff if continually disinfecting the common areas of the building and surfaces that are frequently touched, such as the elevator buttons, doorknobs, handrails and other surfaces in the main entrances, lobbies, hallways, staircases and laundry rooms.

Our site staff and security personnel, where present, have been instructed to limit the amount of people moving about in the buildings, especially in the senior buildings.  Visitors will not be allowed up to apartments unless they are delivering food, medicine or other necessary supplies or are there as caretakers for tenants.  Visitors must follow the procedures for obtaining the tenant’s consent to enter the building and for signing in and out of the buildings as will be explained by security personnel at the building.  All visitors must also follow the CDC safety guidelines for social distancing, cleanliness and protective coverings.  We remind everyone that the medical health advisors are now suggesting that you should wear a face covering whenever you are out in public.

MRG hopes that you and your families are staying safe and healthy during these difficult times.  Our thoughts are with those who may be impacted by the outbreak and we are thankful for the health care professionals who are working to care for them.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  We are here for you.
